Phil’s Propane Racing News 2/08…

...car has a rather skittish ending dropping to 4th place

As the last month of racing wore on, the #88 Late model Ford Fusion suffered some setbacks being involved in entanglements with less experienced drivers causing the inability to recover position with the time allotted. Patience and relentless agitation took on new meaning in an incident in the infield after one of the races. Although our team lost the points for the night, the crowd was happy and cheered us on as we left the track. The new meaning was described as “YOU WILL NOT MESS WITH ME AGAIN!”

The last race of the season saw a golden opportunity to retake 2nd place when the 2nd in points car was involved in a race ending incident and our #88 was taking the lead on a pass on the outside in turn 3. The car being passed made one last attempt to prevent this passage, but lost control and sent our car out on a spin and back to the middle of the pack. Lack of time prevented any recovery.

THAT’S RACING

As of this update the car is currently garaged with no body, drive train or steering components. All is being redone from the ground up in preparation of the opening practice runs at the track beginning Saturday, April 5th. Admission is free for these sessions. Racing begins Sunday, May 4th and then every Saturday night throughout the racing season. Come join us and show your support for our Phil’s Propane #88.

Phil’s Propane will be sponsoring a special late model race night on Saturday, August 2nd in which our staff will present a special display of our services along with handouts and customer information. We hope to see you there!!!!
